THE HUMAN ELEMENT - Director, Writer

This award-winning look at the impacts of climate change on ordinary Americans follows renowned environmental photographer James Balog as he trains his camera on how human activity has changed the four classical elements: Earth, Air, Fire and Water.

PRESS AND AWARDS

“A departure from An Inconvenient Truth-esqe portrayals of doom and gloom that have defined most climate documentaries of the past decade or so. Rather than featuring primarily scientists preaching to the enviro choir, it focuses on relatable everyday people being affected by the changing planet: firefighters, fishermen, coal miners.” Outside Magazine

The film features some of Youtube’s biggest stars like Shay Carl, GloZell Green and Charles Trippy (who maintained his world record for most consecutive daily vlogs by continuing to film during two brain surgeries). Premiered at the 2016 TriBeCa Film Festival.

FREEDOM! THE MOVIE - Director, Writer

A funny and heartfelt road trip through some of the eccentric ways Americans around the country express their notions of what it means to be free. The movie follows comedian Billy Wayne Davis as he explores life in a libertarian stronghold, lives on the road with a van-dwelling family, forages for food with an off-the-grid community and tries whatever he feels like in a Nevada town where nearly everything is legal. Produced for CMT.

THE BUFFALO WAR - Director, Writer, Camera

An award-winning examination of the killing of Yellowstone National Park’s wild bison by Montana state and federal officials. The film follows a 500-mile march across Montana in the dead of winter by a group of Native American protesters, the frontlines work of daring environmental activists and the story of a ranching family caught in the crossfire. Recipient of ITVS funding, the film played festivals worldwide and aired nationally on PBS.

PRESS AND AWARDS

"As iconic as the buffalo are, the story's real power lies in its even-handed assessment of the separate struggles of Native American and environmental activists to change policies long-supported by ranchers and Montana bureaucracies. It is a model approach to laying out conflicting voices with empathy and restraint." The Independent

"Of several films on this subject, The Buffalo War is arguably the best to date. Extremely well photographed, it gives equal weight to all the concerned voices." Montana Magazine

"A fascinating look at the untold story of the current decimation of the last wild herd of buffalo...skillfully interweaves the stories of radical environmentalists, protesting Native Americans, and a ranch family." San Francisco Film Society
